National conference speakers announced

One of the largest landlord organisations in the UK has given details of its forthcoming national conference this week, including the guest speaker list and expert advisers .

The National Landlords Association (NLA) annual conference will be held in Manchester on November 9th and will attract members from all across the UK. The NLA has over 20,000 members most of whom are residential landlords in the UK. The wide range of members includes those with just one rentable property to professional property investors with hundreds of properties on their books. They claim to be the biggest landlord organisation in the UK and boast over 40 full time staff.

Chief Executive David Salusbury looked forward to the National Conference saying: “The National Conference is a highlight of the year for the NLA. It gives landlords an opportunity to come together and share information and advice on how to improve their lettings business, hear how government policy with affect them and discuss issues with fellow landlords.

“The private rented sector is becoming an increasingly important part of the housing equation in the UK, and it is vital landlords have the right knowledge to provide the best quality accommodation.”

The guest speaker will be Terrie Alafat, Director of Housing Growth and Affordable Housing at the Department for Communities and Local Government who will talk about providing good quality, affordable homes. Landlords will also get the chance to question experts on such topics as landlord insurance, tax and VAT strategies, repossession rights and tenant relationships through a hosted question and answer session with a panel of accredited experts. The conference will also offer landlords various workshop opportunities in what should prove to be a busy but informative conference.
