Landlord organisation to put on Expo in March 2013

Property investors with an interest in landlord insurance and living in the East Midlands have an opportunity to meet like minded people at an event put on by East Midland Property Owners Limited (EMPO).

The EMPO Expo will take place at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on the 19th March 2013 and organisers are expecting a bumper turn out. The event is aimed at all aspects of the letting industry and the organiser’s specific aim is to bring about improvements to the private rental sector in the region. Landlords, letting agents, property investors and local authority housing sectors will all benefit from the event that runs for the main part of the day.

EMPO have organised an extensive programme of workshops and seminars throughout the day and say guest speakers with professional expertise will be in attendance. Landlords will get the chance to benefit from their advice as well as from the 40 plus companies already signed up for the day. Property investors will be able to get advice on legal representation, property insurance, tenancy deposit schemes, tenant referencing and even how to buy a house at auction. In fact Graham Penny Auctioneers will conduct a live auction at the event.

EMPO is a professional landlords’ organisation but also a not-for-profit organisation. Its members own somewhere in the region of 15,000 rented properties across the East Midlands region giving them a clear insight into the everyday problems that landlords come up against. It is celebrating 70 years of existence in 2012 and its literature explains: “Our purpose is simple. We want to provide landlords with the advice, tools and knowledge they need to be professional, and we want tenants to have decent, safe and affordable homes in a thriving and safe community.”
